Frequently Asked Questions
What makeup brands do you use?
I don't use just one brand of makeup, I use a variation of the top brands. I don’t believe one brand is the best and everyone’s skin is different and has different needs.
Do you have a travel fee?
Yes I do, the first 20 minutes of travel is free and after that it is .70c per km. For clients who are a long distance away we can work out travel costs in your quote.
How far will you travel?
We will travel as far as you need us to, as long as travel/time charges are covered.
Waiheke Travel Fees
Travel costs to Waiheke are to cover the ticket/s to the island, parking in the city and bus ticket on the island or someone to pick Makeup Artists up.
How many people do you have working on bridal parties or large groups?
If the bridal party or group of people getting their hair or makeup done is a party larger then three, then there will be other artist/s there to help. We have a group of four ladies to help on your big day as well as a beauty therapist.
Do I need to have a trial?
You don’t have to have a trial, but I would highly recommend one and most brides do get one. It gives you the chance to try out any looks you have been wanting and see if they work, so we can meet before the big day and make sure you are 100% happy with your artist. Teaming your trial date with your final dress fitting is perfect as you can see the completed look!
How long does a trial take?
Hair and makeup usually take about an hour each, but for a trial I give around 3 hours so we can discuss all the looks you would like and what will go with your dress and flowers the best. We can also discuss what time we will need to start and where we will be getting ready etc.
What is your booking fee?
For weddings my booking fee is $100 is due to secure your wedding date. For all other occasions a 20% deposit is required. These are non refundable once you have secured your date. The rest of the balance is to be deposited in the account supplied a day before your wedding or in cash on the day.
Do I need to buy any products?
We supply everyone with a touch up pot of their lipstick or lip gloss, but if you would like to supply your own that is also fine and we will apply it for you.
Purchasing a powder is recommended and we can let you know which one to purchase on your trial or purchase it for you.
When should I wash my hair?
The morning before your wedding/event is recommended. With no product in it and dry.
